Like most running gear, all over the world, it cuts across the sexual category with only slight variations like the shoes, shorts, tops, caps - one necessary running item that is strictly ladies only are the bras.

For bras and running, it seems the further functional the better. Simply picking out something out from your drawer isn't going to cut it also, even though a survey of women in the UK found that there are 73 percent of those who exercise on a regular basis do not wear a sports bra.

Long said that runners need a bra that lessens movement and stretching of the breast tissue, but most significantly of all, comfortable.

She says some people want to look good but it's really all about functionality. Even if every woman will go well with a different bra it is vital to get fitted properly.
