British retailer gets criticized for new lingerie product

British retail giant Marks and Spencer received harsh criticisms for its move on selling a new lingerie product, specifically a bra that can just be worn for just eight hours.

According to reports, the store has started selling a £20 stick-on, strapless bra which has been advertised as an “ideal” underwear or lingerie for women wearing strapless or backless tops or dresses. However, a disclaimer by the manufacturer states that it should not be worn for more than eight hours.

The warning was issued because of the high level of silicone embedded in the bra. Though it provides the necessary grip on the skin, it can also irritate those who have sensitive skin.

The retailer got the flack because it did not mention on the website the warning by the manufacturer and even stated that it does provide the secure support without stipulating the aforementioned time period. Some of the customers said that they use their underwear for more than 12 hours, but it is not recommended. Having a bra with such a limited lifespan could certainly make a rather interesting twist in the Cinderella tale...

Knickers makes impressive comeback in fashion market

Knickers were thought to be a thing of the past now that G-string underwear has made its mark in the fashion world lately. However, things are starting to be reversed now with the popularity of films such as “Bridget Jones” with lead actresses wearing big knickers.

Research revealed that sales of knickers rose by 42 percent this year while G-string sales have decreased. It’s been discovered by more women that bigger underpants have the benefit of flattening the wearer’s stomach.

Nicky Clayton, the creative director of lingerie company Rigby & Peller, was quoted as saying that bigger underpants are becoming an attractive prospect this season because of the fact that it also feels comfortable.

Clayton also said that large knickers are also making a bit of changes especially since that these underwear have more detailing and designs such as ruffles, laces and many more.
